While most people will recognize David Burtka from his acting roles, he also is a classically-trained chef and professional entertainment expert and party planner.
We are excited to unleash that expertise and passion for our guests of this year’s Epcot International Food & Wine Festival as part of the “Sunday Brunch with the Chef” program. [David will appear at the Festival on Sunday, Oct. 13.]
In his book, “Life Is a Party: Deliciously Doable Recipes to Make Every Day a Celebration,” David showcases his love of “celebration cooking,” which he says could be anything from traditional celebration days like birthdays and holidays to creating a moment for merrymaking on a regular Tuesday night.
David and his family [husband Neil Patrick Harris and their two children] are regular visitors to Disney Parks around the world and usually visit Walt Disney World each holiday season. For years, Neil has been one of our returning favorite celebrity narrators for Candlelight Processional at Epcot International Festival of the Holidays.
We caught up with David recently and he gave us his thoughts on his personal philosophy of entertaining and how Disney Parks’ vacations have become a tradition for his family.
The 24th Epcot International Food & Wine Festival runs from Aug. 29 to Nov 23, 2019. A culinary mashup of global cultures and gourmet innovation, the Festival brings irresistible bites, sips, entertainment and family fun to Walt Disney World Resort. This year’s Festival will add a dozen extra days, expanding the foodie celebration to a delicious 87 days.
Epcot guests can begin with the aromas and flavors of more than 30 festive global food and beverage destinations that extend from Future World to encircle the World Showcase promenade. Guests also can explore opportunities for special tastings and pairings, plus premium dining events featuring chef personalities.
Sunday Brunch with the Chef
During this event, you’ll kick things off with a sparkling wine toast, enjoy an amazing spread of flavorful dishes—and listen to the celebrity guest dish out their favorite tips and tricks. Plus, foodie fans are in for a fabulous pièce de résistance following brunch—a meet-and-greet photo opportunity with the guest of honor. The event is held in the World Showplace Events Pavilion on select Sundays throughout the Festival from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event cost is $139 per Guest—plus tax.
