From WESH 2 News Orlando-
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said Wednesday that the state would support a move by theme parks to increase capacity at their attractions.
The governor made the comments during a roundtable discussion at Universal Orlando with leaders from Universal, Walt Disney World and SeaWorld.
Central Florida three major theme parks have been operating at reduced capacity since they reopened after extended closures due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“We think the capacity can be increased. When you have the kind of protocols they have in place, you know, we’re very comfortable at the state level that they’re doing it in a good way.”
To limit capacity at its parks, Disney guests now need to make a reservation to visit.
When purchasing a ticket, Disney guests have access to calendar of available reservation dates for each theme park.
Executives from all three theme parks told the governor the reopenings have been a success and claim they’ve created some of the safest environments in the world.
