TMSM’s Adventures in Florida Living- Looking Ahead

From the Walt Disney World News and written by: Michele

Hey Friends! Greetings from chilly Florida! Oh yes, it’s been in the 30’s at times this week and Floridians aren’t used to that! Granted, a lot of states got SNOW this week, so at least we don’t have that! Could be worse!

The past week has been another busy one. Do you ever feel like your days are all running together, or that the week goes by in a blur? Well, that’s totally me so far this year. I’ll wake up in the morning and my first thought is figuring out what day it is and what I have to get done. Sad right? I haven’t yet been able to master the art of “getting my ducks in a row” as my Gram would say. My ducks are running amuck currently! Amuck, amuck, amuck… as my inner Sarah Sanderson would say. Let’s switch subjects, from ducks to rats!

The walls are down at the France Pavilion at Epcot, so you can walk back to where Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is. The walkway back there is really nice, plus there’s a new restroom and stroller parking spot. The Disney Skyliner flies overhead which is actually pretty cool to see. There are still walls up blocking the view to the attraction itself, but you can see the sign for Gusteau’s restaurant! I’m pretty excited about this one, it’s a long time coming!

Another reason we went to Epcot was to check out the Gran Fiesta Tour in Mexico. Last week there was all kinds of fuss regarding the animatronics at the end of the ride, or lack there of. Yep, indeed… the Three Caballeros are now flat cutouts at the finale of your boat ride. Disney fans are very particular I’d say. Most don’t like change, which I am also guilty of. So when something changes at a Disney Park, it’s a big deal, people want answers. If there are no answers then speculation begins, and there’s been plenty of that. The big theory is that Disney is planning to redo the ride, to theme it for Pixar’s Coco. Others say the animatronics are bring refurbished, or that they kept breaking and they’re tired of fixing them. Time will tell, but regardless Disney is always looking ahead. You know… the whole “keep moving forward” idea that Walt said many years ago.

Speaking of looking ahead, I think that’s a really good thing to do right now. No looking back, there’s nothing to see. Things may be stressful now, but it’s hopefully temporary. But what about what’s to come maybe? For as long as I can remember, I have ALWAYS been the type of person who needed something to look forward to. For my mental well-being, no kidding! For example, after the holidays were over when I lived in Michigan, I’d get blue by mid January. It was cold and depressing, so I’d start planning a Disney trip for later in the year. Even if we didn’t get to go on said trip for whatever reason, it gave me something to look forward to. I felt better, even if it was temporary. I still do that now, but since moving to Florida the blues don’t get as bad. This year we have a lot to look forward to, work events and such. We have conventions in April, I get to work with Joey Fatone again which is great. Plus our clothing business is blossoming and there are plans there too. So on days I feel like I’m spinning my tires in the mud, I try to look ahead instead of dwell on what’s happening in the moment. It’s hard to do but I try. As for Disney, when people ask me about the changes or talk about the construction or really anything they find to be inconvenient… I tell them to look forward to what’s ahead. Disney is always working on something, always! Why are the Three Caballeros flat? I don’t know. When will the Ratatouille ride open, what about Tron, what’s planned for WDW’s 50th? Again, I don’t know, but I will say that I’m looking forward to finding out. It’s a good philosophy and I’m sticking to it!

Well, that’s it for this week. Oh, just a reminder, there’s a preorder for my latest limited edition shirt on Lost Princess Apparel AND a new jersey is out on Pop Culture Jerseys! Thank you as always for following along and for your support. Until next time, sending you love, blessings and pixie dust. See ya real soon! -M
