Disney goers were wondering what would happen once Magical Express is gone at the end of the year, and now we have answers!

From Spectrum News 13-

ORLANDO, Fla. — Mears Transportation on Thursday said it will begin its own shuttle service between Orlando International Airport and the theme parks early next year, following the shutdown of Disney Magical Express.

Mears currently operates the Disney Magical Express service, which is set to end later this year.

In response, the company said it will roll out its own direct service called Mears Connect. The service will launch January 2022 and will provide transportation between Orlando International Airport and resorts in the Walt Disney World area.

Travelers who use the service will be transported in “high occupancy vehicles,” which will likely be similar to the buses used for the Magical Express service. The amenities will be similar as well.

“Guests can expect scheduled service, luggage handling, convenient airport terminal staging, and return trips to the airport,” Mears said in a news release.

Reservations for Mears Connect will be available beginning in May. Pricing, the company said, will be announced later this year.

The move comes after Disney announced earlier this year it would end its Magic Express bus service due to a “shift” in consumer options and preferences. The free service, which has operated since 2005, was an added benefit for those staying at Disney World resort hotels.

“We plan to offer the same level of experience, service and convenience we’ve provided for the last 16 years, on behalf of our longtime partner, as returning guests and first-time visitors can expect nothing less,” Mears spokesperson Roger Chapin said in a statement.
