Environmental Fun at Flower and Garden

The Taste of Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival is well underway and if you haven’t been yet you’re missing out! Running March 3rd through July 5th, guests can experience a variety of food and flowers all around the park. This is a great way to sample treats from around the world and learn about the environment at the same time. Additionally, the festival offers fun activities the whole family can partake in located in Future World West. Check them out:

The Goodness Garden Butterfly House

Every year, Epcot presents a walk-through butterfly habitat for guests to come face-to-face with the insects. Located near The Land is a colorful array of nature come to life. Here, observers can read about conservation and learn how to create their own habitat while butterflies flutter around them. Guests can spend as much time as they want inside the encounter which makes it a unique spot for killing time.

Health Full Trail

If guests are looking for a place to relax and take a breather, look near Starbucks. They can have a seat amongst the greenery in a provided lounge chair or on the grass. There is plenty of space to stretch out and recuperate before continuing onto the next attraction, or snack. The area encourages guests to be healthy in both mind and body with helpful tips such as “breaks give us a chance to recharge.”

Growing the Future

What better way to learn about the environment than watching a show? Join two spunky scientists as they do experiments to explain scientific methods. This time, they taught the audience about soil and how its nutrients affect plant growth. At the end of the show they handed out an activity bag so guests may conduct their own experiments at home. This show is family friendly and runs for roughly ten minutes once an hour (times may vary).

Photo Spots

Thanks to the Purple Wall at Magic Kingdom, wall designs have become popular places for photo ops around property. Guests can take pictures with different styles of butterfly wings, including Figment’s wings and horns! Find your favorite variety and strike a pose. These can be found near The Seas with Nemo & Friends and don’t require the Disney Photopass.

Spending a day in the parks can be overwhelming, especially during a festival. The next time you’re at Epcot, visit one of these locations to diversify your day. You might just learn something in the process.
