Last week, I went to Magic Kingdom and found a Cookies and Cream Marshmallow Pop. Since the Main Street Bakery was closed, they had pre-packaged case line goodies in the Emporium. After much self-deliberation I decided to buy it. It was so good! I had been thinking about it all week, and so much so that I decided to taste other marshmallow products.
My first thought was Goofy’s Candy Company at Disney Springs. I knew from earlier visits that guests could create their own treat. When I arrived, I was informed they were not offering this experience. Needless to say I was disappointed, but still had to get a treat. I chose a pink white chocolate covered marshmallow shaped like Mickey. It was very sweet and just tasted like sugar. Although it was very cute and Instagram worthy, I would recommend a milk or dark chocolate coating to offset the sweetness.
On my way to the other candy store, I happened upon a kiosk called Wondermade Gourmet Marshmallows. Of course I had to stop by! They sell boxes of sixteen marshmallows in all kinds of flavors including Lavender, Lemonade, S’mores, and Waffles & Syrup. I wanted a flavor I couldn’t normally buy in stores so I chose Salted Caramel. As a fan of caramel I enjoyed this flavor a lot and honestly had to stop myself from eating the entire box. I’m excited to try more fun flavors from them.
I rounded out my visit with a Rice Krispy Treat from the Candy Cauldron. They had several varieties so I chose what appeared to be Strawberry Shortcake. Unfortunately it didn’t taste as good as it looked. It actually tasted more like strawberry medicine. One of my favorite ice creams is the Strawberry Shortcake bar so I had high hopes for this version. However, just like the chocolate marshmallow it was better suited for aesthetic than to eat.
Overall, I would call this a successful visit. I got to try new sweets that I’ve been eyeing and discovered a new shop. I even left with some toasted marshmallow jelly beans to hold me over until I go back for s’more.
