ORLANDO, Fla. — Universal Orlando Resort will now require team members to wear face coverings while working indoors starting Saturday.

Guests will not be required to wear masks inside but are encouraged to follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines and local directives to wear masks indoors across Universal Resort.

“The health and safety of our guests and team members is always our top priority,” Universal said in a statement. Walt Disney World updated their face mask policy as well.

The update in policies come after Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings urged residents and visitors to wear masks when in an indoor space with others whether they are vaccinated or unvaccinated.

On Tuesday, Orange County saw the highest number of new COVID-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic.

Stay tuned for more updates as we see them!
