According to new reports online, it seems Amber Heard is putting together a new legal team to appeal the verdict in her recent trial against her ex-husband Johnny Depp.

According to new reports, Amber Heard is “replacing most of her legal team” for the next round of legal battle with Depp. We all thought the six-week trial would have come to an official end in June when Depp was awarded $10.4 million by a Virgina judge. However, it’s been reported that Heard was allegedly unhappy with how her legal team performed in the Virginia case and now she is looking to appeal this verdict.

Court filings now show that Amber Heard’s main attorney Elaine Bredehoft is out, and attorneys David L. Axelrod and Jay Ward Brown of Philadelphia are in, with Ben Rottenborn of Virginia still staying onboard from the original legal team.

“We welcome the opportunity to represent Ms. Heard in this appeal as it is a case with important First Amendment implications for every American,” said Heard’s new legal team in a statement. “We’re confident the appellate court will apply the law properly without deference to popularity, reverse the judgment against Ms. Heard, and reaffirm the fundamental principles of Freedom of Speech.”.

In the original hearing in June, the jury also ruled in favor of Depp on many counts on the list of wrongdoings the couple had accused one another of. Some of which included physical, verbal, and emotional abuses and defamation of character. Specifically, referring to the 2018 WaPo op-ed Heard had written indirectly referencing an allegedly abusive marriage she claimed to of had with Depp.

What are your thoughts on Amber Heard and her attempt to change up her legal team to possibly appeal the verdict in her trial against her ex-husband Johnny Depp? Let us know in the comments!
